Is Scoil Ghníomhach Sinn/

We are Officially an Active School!

Ó osclaíodh ár nGaelscoil ilchreidmheach bhí sé mar sprioc againn í a fhorbairt mar scoil ghníomahach, suite mar atáimid i bhfoirgneamh a bhaineann le Cumann Rugbaí Bhaile an Chollaigh. Táimid go mór faoi chomhaoin ag an gCumann Rugbaí as a gcuid tacaíochta maidir leis an sprioc seo a bhaint amach. Since our newly established multi denominational gaelscoil opened its doors in Ballincollig Rugby Club (BRC)  it has been our aim to develop as an active school. Our sincere thanks to BRC for their ongoing support in enabling us to achieve this aim.

Corpoideachas /Physical Education (PE)

Pléitear agus déantar athbhreithniú rialta ar Chorpoideachas sa scoil.  Pléitear dul chun cinn an linbh sa chorpoideachas le tuismitheoirí.

Our Physical Education programme is discussed and reviewed on a regular basis as part of our ongoing School Self-Evaluation process. Each child’s progress in PE is discussed with parents.

Baineann gach dalta taitneamh agus tairbhe as clár leathan corpoideachais de réir treoirlínte an churaclaim agus oibríonn na múinteoirí as lámha a chéile chun 5 snáith den churaclam  a chur i bhfeidhm ar bhonn cothrom.

The children enjoy and benefit from a broad PE programme in keeping with the curriculum guidelines. Teachers work in partnership to implement 5 strands / 7 Key Messages in a balanced way.

Cuirtear an-bhéim ar rith sa scoil ar bhonn spraoiúil. Tá ár leanaí ag baint taitnimh as Rás timpeall na hEorpa le Sióg na bhFiacal!

Our school emphasise running every day in a fun enjoyable manner. The Run around Europe with the Tooth Fairy is a great chance to learn a new language in keeping with our patron’s policy on promoting multilingualism!

Tá Ceannairí Gníomhacha againn sa chlós a bhíonn ag plé le trealamh agus ag treorú gníomhaochtaí.Cuirtear sosanna gníomhacha chun cinn sna seomraí ranga le linn an lae agus go háirithe nuair a bhíonn an aimsir fliuch.

All children get opportunities to become Active Leaders in the school yard collecting equipment and leading activities. Bizzy Active breaks are promoted in the classrooms especially during wet weather.

Our children benefit from two active playground breaks a day and are provided with a range of PE equipment to promote the active involvement of all pupils.

Pairtnéireacht / Partnership

Toisc gur pobal scoile nua atá anseo ina bhfuil spiorad láidir is é ár gcoist Cairde na Scoile agus múinteoirí agus daltaí uile ár gCoiste Gníomhach. Tríd an bpróiseas a ghabhann le Brat Gníomhach a bhaint amach tá nascanna láidre cothaithe ag ár scoil leis an bpobal aitíúil.

As this is a new enthusiastic active school community, our ASF committee is made up of all members of our Cairde na Scoile and all our staff and pupils. Through actively engaging with the ASF process, our school has built strong partnership.

Ár Gníomhamhráin

The children enjoy an action song using our active school slogan each morning as a Wake up! Shake up! to kick start the day. We encourage the children to teach the routine at home and we created a video recording of the dance in a flashmob style! Our slogan "Dúisigí Bogaigí" has also been illustrated by our older children so that we can craft a new banner for the schoolyard.

Dúisigí Bogaigí!

Rang 1 Sport Club Survey Results
As part of our Active School Flag application process, our Rang 1 2021 sent a survey out to their schoolmates, who filled it out within class. A small group of students was then tasked with collating the results and filling out a provided table with the numbers of children involved in different sports and with different clubs.
