What we are doing to stay Active at school

I gcomhairle lenár gcomhairleoir PDST,  tá sé mar sprioc againn a chur ar chumas na leanaí na scileanna tábhachtacha a fhorbairt le linn an lá scoile. 

 In collaboration with our PDST advisor, we have launched a particular emphasison developing the childrens' fundamental movement skills, as part of the Move Well, Move Often Physical Literacy programme (https://www.scoilnet.ie/pdst/physlit/fms-activities/running//),

Gabhaimid ár mbuíochas of chroí le John Dwyer  a bíonn linn go rialta i rith an scoil bhliain ag déanamh scileanna iomanaíochta/camogaíochta leis na páisti.

Our sincere thanks to John Dwyer who was with us regular throughout the school year to develop the childrens camóige / hurling skills.

Leadóg   Tennis

Bíonn ceachtanna leadóige eagraithe againn go minic i gcomhairle le Lakewood Tennis Club mar mhír eile de shnáitheanna an churaclaim Chorpoideachais.  Gabhaimid ár mbuíochas of chroí le Declan Bray agus Siobhan Riordain ó Lakewood Tennis Club.

In collaboration with Lakewood Tennis Club, the children have had Tennis Lessons as part of the PE Curriculum. The children enjoy it immensely. The children are developing racket skills (Ground Strokes:  forehand, backhand, alternate / Serve volley: overhead motion, throw, (rocket) hitting ball before it bounces), mobility skills (ladders, hoops, cones, hurdles) and skills in throwing and catching (rocket ,  large ball  , net rackets, bean bags, (ball controls) and highlighting ball controls, height direction distance speed and spin. Our sincere thanks to Declan and Siobhan from Lakewood Tennis Club for joining us this term.
