An Pobal Suzuki I gCorcaigh agus in Éirinn

Pé áit a theann tú ar fud an domhain, d’fhéadfá teacht ar dhuine eile  go bhfuil staidéar déanta acu ar an ábhar céanna ón modh Suzuki. Tá sé sóisialta agus spraoiúil foghlaim le cairde agus is spreagadh mór é seo chun seinm.  Tá roinnt scoileanna eile i gCorcaigh lena gclár Suzuki féin agus bíonn deiseanna i rith na bliana chun casadh agus cairde nua a dhéanamh ag imeachtaí Suzuki. Gach Fómhair bíonn Imeacht Bliaintiúl Suzuki ar siúl i gCathair Chorcaí  agus tógtar páisti le chéile chun seinm agus inspioráid a fháil.  Tá ranganna speisialta comh maith i rith na bliana ag Ceol-Scoil Chorcaí, agus faigheann siad desieanna oibriú le múinteoirí difriúla ata oilte sa mhodh Suzuki.  Gach Mí Lúil bíonn campa samhraidh, ag athrú idir Chorcaigh, Baile Átha Cliath agus Gaillimh le múinteoirí idirnáisiúnta ag teacht ó thíortha ar fud na hEorpa Ta go leor deiseanna ar fáil do pháistí chun a gcuid ceoil a roinnt agus oibriú go crua lena n-uirlis i slí spraoiúil.

Is modh dalta-lárnach é an Modh Suzuki chun uirlis ceoil a fhoghlaim, le béim mhór ar fhoghlaim ón gcluas, sa tslí a fhoghlaimíonn  páistí óga teanga a labhairt. Faoi ánáil an mhodh Seapáinise d’fhoghlaim na páistí a dteanga dhúchais go nádúrtha trí éisteacht agus aithris a dhéanamh ar a dtuistí. Bhunigh an Dr. Shinchi Suzuki an modh Suzuki agus scaipeadh é mórthimpeall an domhain.  Tá gach a bheidh foghlamtha ag an dalta le fáil ar dlúthdhiosca 1 Suzuki. Cabhraíonn éisteacht an dlúthdhiosca le ceol a cheangailt le gnáthshaol an pháiste agus bíonn sceitimíní ar an bpáiste an rud atáid in ann canadh cheana féin a fhoghlaim.

Tá tábhacht faoi leith leis an athrá ag an tús agus iarrtar ar thuismitheoirí cleachtadh veidlín a dhéanamh lena bpáistí 5 nóiméad gach lá, ag seinm an dlúthdhiosca comh minic agus is féidir. Faoi mar a thugtar uisce do shíolphlanda go bhfásann sé ina phlanda nua, trí cheol a chur i dtimpeallacht an pháiste agus cleachtadh laethúil a chothú, tugaimid deis dóibh grá don cheol a fhás agus a fhorbairt.

The Suzuki Community in Cork and Ireland

No matter where you go in the world, you can find someone else who has also studied through the suzuki method and has learnt all the same material. It is social and fun to learn with friends and this is a great motivator to play. Several other schools around Cork have their own suzuki programmes and opportunities come up throughout the year to perform with and make new friends at Suzuki events. Every autumn the Annual Suzuki takes place in Cork city and brings children together to play together and be inspired. There are also special group classes held throughout the year at the Cork School of Music where again, the children can play with others, and also get to work with lots of different Suzuki trained teachers. Every July a summer camp is held, alternating between Cork, Dublin and Galway where international teachers are invited from many countries around Europe. There are so many opportunities available for the children to share their music, and work hard at their instrument while still having fun.

The Suzuki method is a child centered way to learn a musical instrument, with a big emphasis on learning by ear, in the same way young children learn to speak. Inspired by the way Japanese children naturally picked up their native language by listening and copying their parents, Dr Shinchi Suzuki established the Suzuki method and it has spread throughout the world. Everything the child will learn is first presented on their Suzuki Cd. Daily listening (Suzuki Violin Book 1 Cd) makes the music a normal part of life and gives the child an excitement to learn what they can already sing!

Repetition is key and at the very start parents are asked to practise violin with their child for 5 minutes each day, playing the Cd as often as possible. Just as we water a seedling to develop a new plant, by putting music into a child's environment and nurturing daily practise time, we give them the opportunity to grow and develop and love for music!
