Athoscailt na Scoile

School Re-opening

Mar scoil phobail táimid thar a bheith gnóthach le fada ag ullmhú d’athoscailt na scoile go sabháilte do leanaí uile na scoile Dé Luan, 01 Márta.

As a school community we have been exceptionally busy making preparations for the safe re-opening of the school for all our children on Monday, 01 March.

We have reviewed our procedures and routines within the school in the context of the guidelines and circulars provided by the Department of Education & Skills. While emphasising safety and wellbeing at all times, we will make these routines enjoyable activities for the children. Please be patient as we work together to embed our new necessary precautionary and protective routines at the start of the school year. We are particularly fortunate to have greatly increased space as a result of our new extension.

  • Please see below  our Covid-19 School Response Plans, both from August 2020 and the updated document from February 2021. These are live documents and will be subject to ongoing review. We ask all parents to familiarise themselves with these.

Dóirse ar leith do theacht isteach agus imeacht

Assigned entry and exit doors

Mar is gnáth osclófar an scoil ar 8.30am gach maidin. Raghaidh na Naíonáin Bheaga abhaile don chéad choicís ar a 12 a chlog. Raghaidh na ranganna eile abhaile ag an ngnátham scoile. Ar mhaithe le scaradh sóisialta agus idirghníomhú idir na ranganna a laghdú, beidh doras ar leith do gach rang chun teacht agus imeacht ón scoil. Iarrtar ar thuismitheoirí gan mhoill ró-mhór a dhéanamh agus meas a leiriú ar scaradh sóisialta an t-am ar fad.

Ach ag cur san áireamh gur lá d’ár saoil é an chéad lá ar scoil do na Naíonáin Bheaga cruthóimid spás ar leith dá dtuismitheoirí  chun grianghrafanna a thógaint agus an ocáid speisialta a cheiliúradh.

As always the school will open to receive the children at 8.30am each morning. In order to maintain social distancing and decrease the potential for children from different classes (bubbles) to interact there will be an assigned door for each class to enter and exit the school. Due to current restrictions parents will not enter the school building but will accompany their children to the designated entry point for each class where each child will get a special welcome. We encourage all parents to leave as soon as is practically possible and to respect social distancing at all times.

However, as a child’s first day in school is a day to remember forever we will create a special outdoor space for our Junior infant parents to take photographs and revel in the significance of the special day.

Am lóin agus sosanna Lunch time and Break times

Faoi mar is gnáth beidh deis ag na leanaí taitneamh a bhaint as a gcuid lóin ar scoil i gcomhluadar a gcairde ina gcuid ranganna agus súgradh lasmuigh lena chéile faoin aer ag am sosa. Eagrófar na sosanna le deimhniú nach mbeidh siad ag meascadh le daltaí ó ranganna eile. As always, the children will be able to relax with their friends in their class during lunch time and play outdoors at break time. Break times will be organised to ensure that the children will not mix with other class groups while playing.

                                                                Éide Scoile School Uniform

Beidh ár n-éide scoile compórdach a chuireann ar chumas ár leanaí lá gníomhach spraíóuil a chaitheamh ar scoil á caitheamh ag gach dalta.  As regards our school uniform, current DES guidelines are to continue as normal, advising that it be removed immediately on returning home and not worn to after school activities. Our school uniform enables all children to enjoy an active fun day in school.

Tinreamh sábháilte ar scoil Safe School Attendance

Cé go gcuifear fáilte roimh gach leanbh ar ais ar scoil, is mian linn a chur i gcuimhne do thuismitheoirí nár chóir leanaí a chur chun na scoile má tá slaghdán, casachtaigh nó siomtóin cosúil leis an bhfliú orthu. Faoi mar atá leagtha amach i bPlean Freagartha na Scoile, caithfear leanaí a thaispeánann aon siomtóin mar seo a chur chuig an Otharlann sa seomra ranga nua agus iarrfar ar thuismitheoirí iad a bhailiú. Níor choir do leanaí a thaisteal ó thíortha nach bhfuil ar an liosta Glas freastail ar scoil le linn an tréimhse féin-aonrúcháin 14 lá.

While all children will be welcome back to school, we remind parents that, where children are displaying colds, coughs or flu like symptoms, they should not be sent to school. Children who display such symptoms in school will be isolated in our special sickbay/isolation area in our spare new classroom and parents asked to collect them. Children who have travelled from countries not on the Green List should not attend school during the 14-day self isolation period. Further information on COVID-19 symptoms in children is available at https://www2.hse.ie/coronavirus/

As previously highlighted we would be grateful for your co-operation to support us to implement the following practical arrangements for your child in the best interest of his/her health, safety, and well-being :

  • ensure that your child has a small clean towel, /face cloth, sanitiser and liquid soap which your child can manage easily, in a suitable wash bag each day in school

  • Múinteoir/Teacher will make the children aware of the proper hygiene procedures regarding hand washing and etiquette related to sneezing and coughing. We would be grateful if you could also emphasise safe behaviour in this regard at home as part of the preparation for returning to school.

  • ensure that our children in Rang 1 and Rang 2 have all their prescribed books and requirements on their first day, Thursday next

  • ensure that your child wears good quality comfortable shoes with Velcro which will facilitate him/her to enjoy an active day in school

  • make sure that all personal belongings, (e.g. coat, cap, jumper, lunch box, water bottle),  are labelled with your child's name

Táimid ag súil go mór leis an scoil a athoscailt ar bhonn sábháilte agus a bheith ag obair leat chun an sprioc sin a bhaint amach agus oideachas den chéad scoth a chur ar ár ndaltaí uile. Má tá aon cheist agat ná bíodh aon mhoill ort teagmháil a dhéanamh linn. We are very much looking forward to re-opening our school in a safe, orderly manner and working with you to achieve that goal and to provide the best possible education for all our children.
