Réamh-Drithliú do Naíonáin Bheaga

Tosaíonn na páistí a n-aistear Suzuki i Naíonáin Bheaga leis an gclár ‘Réamh-Dhrithliú’. Is leis an rang go léir le chéile ag an am céanna atá na ranganna ‘Réamh-drithliú. Tosaíonn na páistí ag éisteacht leis an ábhar, aithníonn siad rithimí difriúla,  ard agus íseal, méaramhráin  chun a scileanna mínluaileacha agus neamhspleáchas méire a fhorbairt.  Ta béim ollmhór ar amhránaíocht, rud atá mar pháirt leanúnach sna ceachtanna Suzuki i rith a gcuid foghlama.  Sa dara téarma, tosaíonn na páistí ag obair ar ghreim bogha veidhlín agus ansin bíonn ceiliúradh mór i téarma an tsamhraidh  nuair a dhéanann siad a veidhlíní páipéir agus tuilleann siad ‘bogha veidhlín’ a dhéanann Sheena as slata duail. Leis an bpróiseas agus a veidhlín féin a thógáil, a mhaisiú agus aire a thabhairt de, múintear do na páistí a veidhlín féin a fheiceáil mar rud luachmhar  roimh bhogadh ar aghaidh chuig an fíor-leagan, atá an-sobhriste agus caitear aire a thabhairt de. Ag tosú amach mar seo, faigheann siad tús ráthúil nuair a bhogann siad ar aghaidh chuig fíor-veidhlín i naíonáin mhóra. Caitheann naíonáin bheaga a lán ama ag éisteacht leis an gcéad 6 traic ón dlúthdhiosca ó Leabhar 1 veidhlín Suzuki, ag déanamh a lán méaramhráin agus ulmhúcháin greim bogha chun a scileanna  mínluaileacha.  

“Pre twinkle Programme” for Junior infants:

Children begin their Suzuki journey in Junior Infants with the “Pre twinkle Programme”. Pre twinkle classes are with the whole class at one time. Children begin to listen to the material, identify different rhythms, high and low pitch, finger songs to develop fine motor skills and finger independence. There is a huge focus on singing, which is a constant element in the Suzuki lessons throughout their learning. In the second term, children start to work on the shape of their “Bunny bow hold” and then the summer term is a big celebration as they make their “Paper violins” and earn a “Bow stick” which Sheena makes from dowel rods. The process of building your own paper violin, decorating it and taking care of it, teaches the children to see their violin as precious before moving onto the real version, which is so fragile and must be looked after very carefully. Beginning this way sets them up for a successful start when they graduate onto a real violin in senior infants. Junior Infant children spend a lot of time listening to the 6 twinkles (first 6 tracks off the Suzuki violin Book 1 Cd), doing lots of finger songs and bow hold preparation to develop their fine motor skills in preparation for starting on their real violins in Senior Infants.
